It is a faith-based school. My co-workers are great and the administration is all about family. We see lots of parent involvement and there is so much support of the teachers.

I wanted to be an early childhood educator because...

I have a passion for working with young children.  When I started college I was not sure what I would be, then I took a child development class and I was hooked.

Favorite Children’s Book

“Yurtle the Turtle” by Dr. Seuss. Brings back fond childhood memories of my dad reading it to me.  Plus, it teaches a lesson about kindness, fairness and compassion. I enjoy reading it to children with voice inflections, keeping them engaged and learning.

What I learn from my students

To have fun, to enjoy life. I cherish their innocence. They have kept me laughing and challenged over the years. They keep me young! 

On sharing information with parents

I know how important it is for parents to hear about their child's development and progress. I enjoy sharing funny stories about their child's play or stories they have told. I feel blessed to be able to pass on knowledge about young children through my own experiences and experience.
