Ms. Salina is the Lead Teacher of the Toddler Room - 1B

“I enjoy teaching because it gives me great pleasure to help mold the minds of our future. Children are my passion!”

I chose to work at Risen Savior because…

I love the fact that I get to involve my religious beliefs with my everyday work environment. It is a huge blessing to me to be able to attend chapel during the week with the children.

Why I became an early childhood educator

At an early age I saw the effect that I had on children and the way they impacted my life. It brings me pure joy to be able to help shape and mold such young lives and watch them grow.

Favorite part of the day

Greeting the children (and their parents!) as they arrive and seeing their smiles and how eager they are to learn and play.

Favorite Children’s Book

Goodnight Moon” by Margaret Wise Brown. This book offers a time to spend snuggle up with your child before bed as a bunny says goodnight to everything around before your child drifts off to sleep.

Why I love the mud kitchen

I love incorporating Reggio Emilia practice by having children explore natural elements such as mud. Engaging in rich sensory play allows children to be creative while enhancing their motor skills.

My absolute favorite snack to share with children

Strawberries! I absolutely love berries and so do the children when we like to get messy.

If I could turn back time and be a student at Risen Savior

I would love our library! Diving into a brand new picture book is like escaping into a new world.

Working with my colleagues at Risen Savior has given me…

A sense of community and the ability to lean on my fellow teachers for questions, concerns, and at times prayer.

What I want parents to know

It’s difficult to leave their child all day.  We understand that. Sharing even the smallest detail of how the day went with parents, or snapping a photo to send, can provide a great amount of comfort.

Many people are surprised that young children…

Are learning through everything they're seeing, touching, smelling, hearing. Their work is their play!

At the end of the day, I feel terrific when I think about….

The very many milestones I have helped each child reach and continue to thrive and move forward.
